We think your cabin and the setting are very peaceful. What a nice getaway! We enjoyed all the old artifacts, which reminded us of our youth! Thank you for a well stocked cabin. -- Olathe, KS, August 16, 2010

We loved the well stocked and peaceful cabin. It was wonderful to see the Milky Way from the deck and last night we lay down on it so we could enjoy the meteor shower! Fantastic!! See you again. -- Colorado Springs, CO, August 14, 2010

Than you for your incredible cabin. We had a really special time. We got many special treasures. We had a stunning day for Trail Ridge. The morning sun and the colors and shadows on the mountains coming back in the afternoon -- female moose and baby, then another female all on the way to Grand Lake. Two elk on the way back here from Estes and a pretty little doe right in back of the cabin. The three of us will always remember our special time together and the beauty of nature and spirit all around us. Thank you. -- Overland Park, KS, August 11, 2010

This is such a wonderful cabin, so peaceful, so pretty, so rustic. It would have been nice to stay a week and enjoy the cabin sitting outside on the deck! We spent most days hiking at RMNP, even climbed Flat Top Mountain - thought we would die. At the top, it was thundering, pouring rain and windy. We saw a moose and her baby, a herd of elk, mule deer, many chipmunks, a black squirrel, hummingbirds, and so many other things. Truly a wonderful vacation and the majesty of God is definitely shown in this area. -- August 8, 2010

We had a great two days in the cabin. Would like a month! But, back to the Georgia heat. --Georgia, July 26, 2010

Where did the time go? It seems we just got here and now it's time to leave. What a beautiful, peaceful place to spend a week - but definitely not long enough! We Love these mountains with their natural wild beauty. being here just feels right. We can never get enough of it! Coming "home" to your little cabin was a treat! We enjoyed the peacefulness, the sound of the water, sitting on the deck and taking in the cool mountain air after a full day of hiking and fishing! Coming back here is in our plans! -- Roswell, GA, July 17-24, 2010

Thanks for a great stay! he cabin worked beautifully for us. Your gracious attention was much appreciated. Hiking, fishing, soaking in God's beauty has been perfect. Even the forest fire added to our stay here! Thanks again and hope to return. Blessings!  -- Holland, MI, June 18-28, 2010

It has been so wonderful meeting you. It seemed as if we had been friends for a long time. You are great people and we felt so welcomed and cared about. Your place here in Glen Haven is great! There wasn't anything we needed that wasn't here. The scenery was beautiful and the sound of the river relaxing. We enjoyed our trips to RMNP, Estes Park for shopping and the famous cinnamon rolls. Thanks for everything. Love to come back. - Brandon, SD, Jun 13-17, 2010

We've had an excellent week. The biggest challenge for us is the altitude - we live at a few feet above sea level in Norfolk, England. We had great wildlife spotting at Willow Creek Reservior near Lake Granby and Alluvial Fan in RMNP. The deer visited for breakfast each morning and the hummingbirds felt like they were dive bombing us at times. The neighbors were all exceptionally friendly and the pace and quiet of the cabin just what we needed. The Wifi allowed us to look up anything we needed to check out for trips and make plans for the next stage of our holiday in Colorado. -- Norfolk, England, June 4-11, 2010

This cabin was exactly what we had hoped for - trees and water, and peace and quiet. Thank you for keeping it up so well. -- Longmont, CO, May 2010

This place is like heaven. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay. I climbed my first mountain ever, so for me being the city girl totally enjoyed the serenity of the mountains and experience. You are fabulous hosts; the boots you allowed us to borrow made the climb up the mountain so much easier. It was our pleasure to meet you. God Bless you. -- Colorado, March 18-21, 2010

Thank you for the use of this beautiful retreat away from the city. We recently lost our daughter. This was the perfect place to get away from it all, recoop, and spend some time in prayer together. We enjoyed hiking around the cabin, an afternoon of being tourists in Estes Park and a great BBQ dinner at Smokin' Daves. We also enjoyed evenings in the cabin playing cribbage, putting a puzzle together and watching a move with the fire on. -- March 12-14, 2010

Are we ever glad we met you at the Highland Scottish Festival and found Hobert Haven. Many thanks to you and Ken for the mention of this wonderful cabin. The first day we walked North Fork and met some neighbors. Very welcoming. Even bought a cookbook in support of the fire dept. We hiked the path behind the cabin. What views! We have been to Estes Park many times but have never realized how rich this little Glen Haven is and how much peaceful solitude it has to offer. How many years in Ft. Collins and am still in awe at what is near all own back yard! It will be3 hard to leave - but we will be back. -- Ft. Collins, CO, November 25-27, 2009

Awesome weekend getaway! Perfect weather. We hiked the northern boundary trail to West Creek Falls, not a soul in sight. Saturday we hiked to Ypsilon Lake. We experienced 2 seasons - sunny and warm at the bottom and trekking through snow at the top. Love your cabin! Could stay here all year. Sarah and I had great spirit all weekend!! - Knoxville, TN & Golden, CO, October, 2009

We have had a wonderful time in your cabin. We especially have enjoyed the privacy and coziness of your haven. One of the best things about this place is its remoteness yet its closeness to Estes and RMNP. Chris and I are both nature lovers, so we kept a list of all the different animals we spotted. We definitely hope to return so we can hike together and see the beauty of this retreat again. -- Hilton Head, SC , October 13, 2009

Thanks for sharing your cabin with us. It was awesome watching it snow through that huge window. Absolutely breathtaking! We had a great time walking around. Thanks again! -- Greenville, TX, October 8, 2009

We had a very enjoyable time in your cabin. It's quite homey and very peaceful! Thank you for the cozy accommodations. -- Smithton, IL, October 2, 2009

Thank you so much for providing such a peaceful, quiet and lovely place with all the comforts of home! We loved sitting out on the deck in the morning with coffee and a book while listening to the river. It was so nice to have a place to come back to and relax after a day of hiking that wasn't in the midst of crowds and wasn't too far away from RMNP. -- Omaha, NE, September 27, 2009

Not sure of the date. That's how good a vacation this was. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to stay here. When my job took us away from Colorado, we were heartbroken. Your lovely cabin was just the medicine needed. The mountain breeze blowing the scent of roasting pine needles through the window is so refreshing. (Wish I could bottle it.) Flickering aspen leaves, the darting hummingbirds and the melodic cadence of the river made for a perfect week. I even caught 3 fish. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
-- Grand Rapids, MI, July 1, 2009

We had 4 perfect nights at your charming cabin. We wouldn't change a thing. We love the views, river sounds and cozy comfort. I especially like your lovely handmade quilt!! We are so thankful you are willing to share your treasured cabin with us. It will remain in our memories forever along with your welcoming personalities. Thank you to the people who recommended trails. We followed their advice and loved the diversity of the walks. we especially liked Lumpy Mountain and the Fern trail. We got great moose pictures and had perfect weather. -- Excelsior, MN, June 22, 2009

After the chaos and stress of trying to plan a wedding, this was the perfect place for our honeymoon! The sights and sounds were phenominal! We saw big horn by the Alluvial Fan, elk everywhere, moose on the Grand Lake side of Trail Ridge Rd., a bobcat, fox, and a bear on our way home last night! Big footprint on the deck our 2nd day here. Also another "cat like" animal on our hike out back!  Your hospitality and the fresh flowers were anything by ordinary! Sad to leave but will return sometime. -- June 7-14, 2009

Thank you for the use of your cabin. It was perfect for escaping the daily routines of life. Just what I was looking for. -- Westminster, CO, November, 2009

Having lived at Youth United Camp Ground on Fox Creek in 1989-90, but then moving away, it was great visiting the area again! Chris and I had a relaxing time. It was great having a whole cabin to ourselves (not just a room). The Glen Haven/Estes Park area has to be one of the best places on Earth. Thanks and may God bless you. -- Billings, MT, October, 2008

This is where Tom and I chose to celebrate my 59th birthday. Our time here was too short to feel fully relaxed of our daily cares, but we both feel much lighter. Dinner at the Inn was a delight and we really enjoyed our hike up the Pack Trail. -- Colorado, October 2008

I hate writing this because it means we are getting ready to leave. Hope to be back soon though what a magnificent place.  -- Centennial, CO, November 2008

We had a fantastic, relaxing time here. What a wonderful way to end our vacation! And a great home base for hiking in RMNP. We wanted to see longhorns in the park for 4 days and finally, driving down Devil's Gulch on our last trip back here, we saw one on the side of the road. Had dinner last night at the Glen Haven Inn - highly recommended. Have a drink with the owners before dinner - interesting couple! Anyway, thanks for a perfect ending to our Colorado Adventure. -- Austin, TX, August 2008

What a wonderful few days of rest and relaxation!! Could not have asked for a more wonderful place to stay. I knew when I found your cabin on line I would love it. So quaint and lovely. Someday we will (I hope) have a cabin like yours to retreat to for great rest and peacefulness. Loved hearing the river at night. Thanks a million! Just "purr-fect"... We will be back. - Erie, CO, August 2008

Growing up in Glen Haven at my parents cabin was the most magical way to grow up. The cabin provided as much to my imagination and education as any school. I've come here for nearly fifth years and everything is always - just as I left it. What else in one's life never changes. I played in the creek with my daughter and rushed to Estes for my taffy. Thank you for making it possible to come home. We will be back. -- Rowland Heights, CA, August 2008

We had a wonderful stay in your cabin. Thank you for your hospitality and willingness to make our stay enjoyable. It could not have been a better vacation! We were so busy and active - returning to the serenity of Hobert Haven was icing on the cake. We hope to come again in coming years when my kids are at Cheley. Thank you!  --August, 2008

Thanks Marsha & Ken. My 17-year-old son and I wanted a quick last minute get away before he gears up for school and soccer. Found your place via. Homeaway.com and fortunately for us, took advantage of a cancellation. Even tho we live in Denver, we're not familiar with RMNP. Ken suggested the Old Fall River Road drive. at one point, Andy said, "I'm so glad I'm seeing this." Hope to see you again. -- Denver, CO, August ,2008

We are once again blessed by God's magnificent creation. Thank you for sharing your cabin. We look forward to a return visit. -- July, 2008

Thank you so much for providing such a wonderful cabin. We enjoyed sitting on the porch reading and listening to the water. We also enjoyed the frequent visits from the hummingbirds. The location is perfect, not too far from the Rockies, and provided an excellent place to come back and relax after a day of hiking and driving. Thanks again. -- Cincinnati, OH, July 2008

We are celebrating our 10 year anniversary - reconnecting with each other with the help of the quaking aspen and continuous lulling of the river. Hiking and sleeping have rejuvenated us. We are so grateful to have found this sanctuary so close to home. Many thanks. -- Longmont, CO, July, 2008

Thank you so much for letting us stay here! I guess guess the $$ really paid off! We know that this is a vacation that we will definitely remember. Thanks so much. -- This is such a relaxing location. Wish we could have stayed longer! -- This house is the coolest house ever! I love the rusticity of it and it is so cute and quaint. The location of the house is the best part because it's only a few miles from Estes Park and it's right next to the river and all the nature-y types of things. We kept on seeing board-tailed hummingbirds and deer and other beautiful wildlife. Thanks for letting us stay! West Des Moines, IA, July, 2008

What a wonderful little cabin tucked away in a remote area that seems like heaven with its running river, general store, and beautiful mountains. Our family had a great time hiking, white water rafting, and horseback riding. We saw tons of elk, marmots and deer as well as a fox and a coyote. It was awesome! We also enjoyed the rodeo that came to town. This was definitely a great getaway for our family. Thank you so much for your hospitality. -- Safety Harbor, FL, July, 2008

Just 45 minutes from home in Ft. Collins is heaven! We had an incredible time in your well-appointed cabin in the midst of such perfection that can only be God's work. Thank you for providing such a hospitable place! -- Ft. Collins, CO, June, 2008

I spent a lot of time on the net searching for places around Estes Park. It was not easy to find somewhere that suited my requirements, affordability, seclusion, beauty and rusticity. Finally I found this place and it ticked all the right boxes! Needless to say, I was not disappointed. The locale is ideal with the rumbling, tumbling Thompson River below and the aspen, fir tree and ponderosa pine traipsing their way up the steep, rock clad hills behind. The cabin itself is delightful, cozy and ideal - especially if quiet, beauty and relaxation are important to you as they are to me. It's even quieter than my home in New Zealand which is on 10 acres with ponds and a waterfall which is silent compared to the constant and very welcoming roar of the river. You have done a fantastic and commendable job of furnishing it with everything one could possibly need. And you have remained true and sympathetic to the era and style in which the cabin was originally built. For me, at least, I did not miss not having a TV as there is a 24-hour "Nature Channel" outside the big picture window! I must say that Hobert Haven is one of the BEST places it has been my pleasure to stay. I hope you keep it for a long time so that my husband can experience it when we next come to the U.S.  -- Warkwort, New Zealand, June 2008

We are both so greatful we chose "Hobert Haven" and this extraordinary area of Colorado to begin the first leg of our 9 day vacation. It has been profound. The past four days have been packed with "beautiful," diverse hikes, peaceful restorative moments to simply pause and feel this magical, healing setting and the home-i-ness of your special cabin. All of your thoughtful touches, from the kitchen supplies, to the mediation CDs, made our stay so memorable. Each day we spent, at least, part of our time hiking - slowly building up our stamina, day by day. Each hike was distinctive and meaningful. We highly recommend: 1) Sprague Lake (easy beginning loop), Alberta Falls (1.8 easy); 2) The Pool - (3.4 easy - gorgeous hike accessed at Fern Lake Trailhead; 3) Gem Lake (1.7 miles each way - 1000 feet elevation gain) - a great and rewarding challenge for us both. We've both appreciated, deeply, the serenity, quiet and peace here. Thank you. -- Van Nuys, CA; June, 2008

Thank you so much for the hospitality. We had a wonderful stay. We would highly recommend a loop through Cameron Pass, Weldon, Laramie, WY and Cheyenne, WY. Beautiful. -- Crowley, TX; May, 2008

Enjoyed every minute - thank you.  -- Denver, CO; April, 2008

Our time here at the cabin has been overwhelming for so many reasons. The beauty of the crisp white snow, the silence of the mountain air that engulfed us as we walked down the road hand in hand. Being together in 2007 and waking up together in 2008, with such a calmness around us from the cabin amazed me. Doing yoga in the morning with the view of nature's beauty and knowing that we not only celebrated the new year but also my birthday meant we did a lot of celebration in a cabin that is so welcoming and loving. I have spent many days in the mountains but when you really stop to take all the beauty and kindness in, when you truly appreciate the awesomeness of the world here, you begin to understand how truly blessed we are to have shared this place with you. May your days be filled with peace and love just as our days here were. -- Indianapolis, IN; December 2007-January 2008

Impossible to decide what part was best about staying here in Glen Haven. a) Sitting y the fire with a glass of wine, listening to the wonderful classical music, b) walking up the road to the trail leading through Comanche Peak Wilderness, c) a & b. The correct answer is C! Thank you, Marsha & Ken for letting us stay here in this awesome little cabin, tucked away from the rest of the world. We'll be back, often! -- Denver, CO; November, 2007

Thank you both for the 4 day rental. We had a GREAT second honeymoon. The weather, hikes, location and cabin were perfect. Your help in our arrival and preparation were invaluable. So good to meet you both. Thanks for bringing "Buddy" by to great us. You have a beautiful place.  -- Denver, CO; October, 2007

Forgot today's date -- that is the point. Relaxed, hiked the two highest peaks behind the cottage. RMNP was busy as the elk were down in the valley. We toured the park and took some great photos. A little rain didn't take away from any of it. Great cottage; great location! -- Forth Worth, TX; Sept. 2007

We wish to thank you for your hospitability. Margot and I really enjoyed the cabin; a perfect location for trips into the countryside as well as a comfortable home to sit back and relax in. The environment around the cabin is beautiful. We hiked the trail behind the cabin and were rewarded in views in 360 degrees. We arrived one afternoon from Esters Park to find two mule deer feeding behind the house; don't see many of those in St. Pete, FL. Thanks again, we'll be back! -- South Pasadena, FL; Sept, 2007

Thanks for sharing your cabin with us. Every day was filled with the beauty of God's best creations. Your cabin accommodated all our needs perfectly, and set the stage for a very relaxing vacation. With the fresh air to the babbling of mountain stream as we gazed from the tree tops of Ponderosa Pines to the vast mountain magnificence. Yes, you have it all here. How blessed you are, the both of you. If you ever want to sell this hideaway of God's window ... let me know. -- Claflin, KS; August, 2007

Thank you so much for sharing your haven with the rest of us. This picture postcard window in the living room is alone worth the  cross country journey. Looking out this window we are reminded of how hectic our daily lives have become -- too often consumed with things that matter little in the long run. Thank you for your gracious hospitality and allowing us to partake in this restorative, beautiful home. -- Manchester, MD; August, 2008

Thanks for sharing this oasis with us! After long days of hiking in the park, we looked forward to the winding drive back down here far from the tourist masses in Estes Park. This was the perfect place to base our hiking adventures. The long slog up to Chasm Lake was rewarded at the top when the clouds broke over the Diamond face. And while we've had many great hiking moments over the years, few have come close to the awe we felt rounding the bend at Lake Helene and looking down past Notchtop Mtn to Lake Odessa far below. We leave here with spirits rejuvenated. Thanks!  -- Minneapolis, MN; August, 2008

Wow!  We can't believe it's been two weeks!  What a time we've had!  Great cabin, great town and great folks!
We will be back! --

Omaha, NE  -- July, 2007

Thank you Ken & Marsha ... we truly enjoyed every minute of our stay at Hobert Haven! The cabin is so cozy and comfortable ... and we are so grateful for the NO TV!  We are so accustomed to focus on the TV at home for our relaxing time.  The past 3 days have been focused on enjoying God's wonderful creation.  We so enjoyed our hike on the trail to the west ... we found ourselves snapping so many pictures by the river, the trees, flowers, rocks ... just trying to capture the surroundings to take a piece home with us!  Hopefully the pictures will spur our memories to relive the peace and tranquility of these few days in the mountains!  What a wonderful way to revive our spirits!  --

What a magical place to remember how to enjoy life.  Good food and wine, breakfast on the porch, listening to the stream and watching the birds.  Enjoyed a great hike way up the road and an absolutely beautiful day.  Wish for another day or two but will hold special memories here.  So nice to have a fireplace and the trees all around.  Thanks for sharing your place so we could come and enjoy the peace and renew our spirits. --

We looked at many alternatives for our honeymoon including tropical places.  After our 7 nights at your cabin, we both agree that this was the best choice.  The peace and tranquility afforded us the time to truly enjoy ourselves. Thank you.  We hope the cabin is available in Jan. 2012 for our 5th anniversary.  Thanks again.  --
Parker , CO - January 2007

Like walking back to the 40s or 50s - just a hoot!  Loved every minute.  My only regret ... not finishing the cowboy puzzle and having to tear it apart. We leave it for a better woman, man or child.  Good Luck!  --
Wamego, KS - December, 2006

Once again wonderful.  We had a great time.  Thank you!  --

This takes me back 50 years to a similar summer cabin my family had in Umatilla, OR.  The furniture, can-opener, refrigerator and smell of pine tress is a familiar and comforting reminder of simpler times.  Thank you for sharing with us!  --

What a lovely place!  Thank you for sharing your "Little Haven."  Such a nice break from the heat of Kansas.  Can't wait to come back!  --
Sterling, KS -- August, 2006

We all agree that our stay here could not have been closer to perfect.  Your cabin is awfully sweet, right down to the older ice trays, the fridge and all the beautiful furniture...truly a 'haven' to return to after spectacular hikes in perfect weather.  The rushing stream and scrabble game were particularly special touches, in addition to the invitation to take a book we hadn't finished reading!  We are sorry to go - and sure we will return.  We were so lucky to find you!  Thank you.

Your cabin is so beautiful!  We are so grateful to have found it online!  Staying here has made our first trip to Colorado unforgettable!  You made us feel very welcomed.  And our two boys loved hiking up the mountain behind the cabin and fishing on the river below.  We plan to come back here!... and tell all of our family and friends about Hobert Haven!  --

"This cabin has been a lot of fun and a great place for a honeymoon stay.  The wonderful views of turning quaking aspen were a real treat; the cabin is wonderfully clean and well-furnished.  It has provided great privacy without a feeling of whelming isolation.  The Dunraven Inn and the Inn of glen Haven were great dinners."   PS  Special thanks for the honeymoon flowers on such short notice!  -- Georgia - September 2004

"Thank you for sharing your special cabin with us.  After a day of hiking or shopping, our family always looked forward to retiring back here to build a fire, play games, and enjoy the solitude.  This "haven" has refueled our desire to one day build a cabin in the woods.  This is a wonderful base for enjoying the Rocky National Park.  We'll always remember our time here!" -- Illinois - July, 2004

"Just wanted to tell you just how much we all fell in love with your cabin and Glen Haven.  It is so beautiful and we sat Thursday night on the deck... watching mama wren work hard to feed her babies.  Even with the all day rain, the scenery was beautiful on Friday.  Our two days here was the perfect end to our Colorado vacation.  Thanks again and believe me, we will tell everyone about Hobert's Haven" -- Kansas - July, 2004

“The cabin was a “haven” - just what we needed to unwind and relax.  This cabin is the realization of my dream cabin in size, location and decor.  I have enjoyed it so much!  Love the sound of the creek with windows or door open.  Had a great walk up the mountain and back along the creek; saw two deer and a black squirrel.  Can't wait to come back!”  -- Michigan
